| On November 7, 1992, a homeless woman took her own life in Los Angeles.
You don't even see them at first. They don't sleep in boxes, or ask for spare change. But so many women in this country are invisible victims of homelessness. For various reasons.....some are victims of abuse....others have chronic illness....some have deadbeat ex-husbands who won't pay child support.
"It Was a Wonderful Life" is a documentary focusing on several women in Los Angeles, and the difficulty they have in trying to live. By the end, only one was able to get things turned around. The rest either continued living in the land of red-tape and police bigotry (one lost her car/home and 3 dogs because it was illegal in that city to live in a car), or in one case, took their own life.

| The more I read (Bible).....the farther I lean ("radical").
I think I'm gonna leave the Green Party.
The March for Life....soon....the counter-inaguration protests....next Thursday.....good news! There is a law in DC that cops cannot pre-emptively arrest people! Doesn't mean that they won't though...you know how (most) cops operate. Now everyone, start adding sprints to your daily anarchist jogging regimen. If they can't catch you, they can't arrest you..... .......unless they just shoot you.
Jeff, if you bring the portable PA system to DC, I will love you forever. |
